ST. MARY PARISH DATA ANALYST POSITIONS
MR. ASHLEY GREGORY
Mr. Ashley Gregory holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Systems from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom. He is fluent in several operating systems, networking, software, hardware, and software languages (SQL, C#, Java, JavaScript, HTML, and PowerShell). He began his career as a Senior IT Support Specialist in 2015 in the United Kingdom. In 2023, he began working for the St. Mary Parish School Board as a computer technician. Mr. Gregory will be filling the vacancy created by the hiring of Mr. Kaylum Vead as Chief Technology Officer. He is looking forward to the opportunity to “use his technical training and expertise to help refine the processes and systems that are currently implemented in our district. I look forward to the challenge.”
MRS. KATHRYN HEWITT
Mrs. Kathryn Hewitt, a native of Franklin, Louisiana, holds a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from LSU, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and is a SACS Accredited Mathematics Dual Enrolled certified instructor. She began her teaching career in 2007 and moved to the public school system at Patterson High School in 2008. During her time in St. Mary Parish, she taught at four of the six high schools (Patterson, Berwick, Franklin, and West St. Mary). Since December 2021, she has served as the Math Master Teacher at Carencro High School in Lafayette Parish. In this role, she works as part of the leadership team to implement data-driven decisions and conducts ongoing progress monitoring in an effort to achieve success for all students. She is also a current adjunct professor for Southern University. Mrs. Hewitt states that she “enjoys working with others to identify and solve problems in order to maximize student learning and success. This appointment will allow me to continue to build upon my abilities as a data driven educator.” This position was vacated in the spring with the resignation of the previous second data analyst.
ST. MARY PARISH INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST (K-2)
St. Mary Parish Public Schools would like to announce the transfer of Mrs. Kimberly Caesar to the position of K-2 Instructional Specialist -- focusing on math, science, and social studies. Mrs. Caesar holds a Bachelor's of Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. She holds certifications in grades K-8, Supervisor of Student Teaching and Instruction, and Educational Leadership. Mrs. Caesar's career spans over 37 years. She served 15 years in kindergarten education and then served as a reading and curriculum facilitator. Her most recent appointment as an assistant principal of Morgan City High School began in 2017. Mrs. Caesar is "grateful to be in a position that will allow her to share her knowledge and impact our children and teachers." She has always "tried to reach every student, every day." Congratulations!
MCHS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Due to the recent transfer of Mrs. Kimberly Caesar to the position of K-2 Instructional Specialist, Mrs. Angela Comeaux has been named as the second assistant principal of Morgan City High School. Mrs. Comeaux has 17 years of educational experience and comes to Morgan City High School from H.L. Bourgeois High School in Houma, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor's in Secondary English Education, a Master's in Educational Leadership, and an add-on certification in Academically Gifted. Mrs. Comeaux's experiences as a middle and high school regular education teacher, school-based Lead Teacher, an special education teacher will be a great addition for the Tigers! Mrs. Comeaux states she is "very excited to take this step forward in my career as an educator! I look forward to making great strides with students, staff, and community of MCHS." Congratulations!
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER NAMED
Due to the recent appoint of Mrs. Amy Vaccarella as Principal of Patterson High School, the position of St. Mary Parish Public Schools Chief Technology Officer became vacant. After recent interviews, Mr. Kaylum Vead has been named to the position. Mr. Vead holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration: Systems, Analysis, and Technology (2008) and a Master’s in Business Administration (2022) from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. From 2004 – December 2020, Mr. Vead was a Technology Analyst and then Assistant Director of Human Resources for the Lafayette Parish School System. He moved to the St. Mary Parish Data Analyst position in December of 2020. Mr. Vead wants to be “a part of the continued growth of St. Mary Parish and create a vision for the future of our technology department.” Congratulations, Mr. Vead!
FRANKLIN JUNIOR HIGH ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL NAMED
Recent interviews were held for the position of Franklin Junior High School Assistant Principal after the transfer of Mr. Lockwood Bonin to Morgan City Junior High School. Ms. Laquanda Gray, currently the elementary assistant principal at Centerville High School, has been named. Ms. Gray comes to the position with a wealth of knowledge. She is a 1996 graduate of Franklin Senior High School. She holds a Bachelor’s in Family and Consumer Sciences (2001) and a Master’s in Education (2023) from Nicholls State University. In 2021, she earned her Educational Leadership Certification from Grand Canyon University. During her years in St. Mary Parish, Ms. Gray has served in numerous educational and leadership capacities that have covered grades PK-12. She stated that she is “glad to be able to provide the support and leadership that will continue to grow and develop the students at Franklin Junior High School. Go, Rattlers!”
