Emergency Family and Medical Leave (EFMLA) Extended by SMP School Board

St. Mary Parish School Board at their regularly scheduled meeting of August 12, 2021, voted to extend Policy GBRIBC (attached). This policy, which originally expired on December 20, 2020, has now been extended two times by the St. Mary Parish School Board at the urging of district officials. Policy GBRIBC has extended the Emergency Family and Medical Leave (EFMLA) and the Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) from July 1, 2021, until December 31, 2021. The previous extension ended on June 30, 2021. This extension is to be used by employees who are required to quarantine or isolate due to COVID-19 guidelines.

As in the past year, employees will be required to submit all necessary paperwork that substantiates the need for the COVID-19 leave to their supervisor or school secretary who should scan and email any paperwork to Suzanne Bergeron and Alicia Morris. Until such paperwork is received, the employee will use their accrued sick days.
