Title IX

NOTICE: This is a notice to all students, parents/guardians, employees, unions/contract employees, and professional organizations holding collective bargaining or professional agreements with the St. Mary Parish School System, that discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities in federally funded school districts and colleges at all levels is prohibited.

The St. Mary Parish School System does not discriminate on the basis of sex in any of its programs and activities. In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

The St. Mary Parish School Board has designated one person to coordinate its nondiscrimination efforts and to ensure prompt and equitable resolution of student complaints alleging discrimination through the Board’s established grievance procedure. 

Inquiries about the application of Title IX may be referred to the St. Mary Parish School System's Title IX Coordinator, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, or both.
