Teaching Strategies GOLD

Teaching Strategies GOLD is a web-based, developmentally appropriate assessment system for children from birth through kindergarten.  The Teaching Strategies GOLD assessments measure the knowledge, skills and behaviors which are most predictive of kindergarten readiness. 

TS GOLD has thirty-eight objectives organized into ten areas of development, learning and content.  PreK teachers collect observational data for each of the thirty-eight objectives for each student.  PreK staff then access the features and functionality of this online portfolio tool in following a four-step assessment cycle.  In assessing a child’s readiness, the teacher reads each objective’s progression and determines the level best matching a child’s abilities from what has been observed during classroom experiences.
