Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Mickey Fabre
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Morgan City High School, the largest school in St. Mary Parish and one of the most progressive high schools in the state of Louisiana. We currently have an enrollment of approximately 800 students and employ a faculty and staff of 75 professionals.
Each year, our school adds new programs or course offerings in an effort to produce quality young men and women who are ready to take on the world by becoming productive members of society. Recently, we added culinary arts and carpentry programs to our growing list of vocational offerings. We continue to offer welding, teaching, early childhood education, business, and agriscience. Our nursing program is currently one of the top programs in the state. We have an internship program that partners our students with local businesses. The students receive training while earning Carnegie units. The result of these programs? Our students are career ready upon graduation from high school.
In order to offer our students dual enrollment opportunities and to take advantage of the credentials of our experienced faculty, we have partnered with several colleges and universities. This allows our students to earn college credit while still in high school! Our campus recently became a College Level Examination Program Test Site, allowing our students to take exams to earn college credit based on thier knowledge. We also offer Advanced Placement courses and specialized classes through the St. Mary Parish Virtual School Program. These offerings also allow students to earn college credit and high school Carnegie units at the same time. The result? Many of our students exit high school well on their way to a college diploma.
I am extremely proud of this school and all that we have accomplished during the past several years. With the continued support of our community and stakeholders, the future is bright and limitless!
