Professional Development

At St. Mary Parish Public Schools, professional development is designed to provide clear direction and meaningful opportunities for growth so that teachers and leaders can continuously strengthen their practice. By leveraging the expertise of district, school, and teacher leaders, we aim to build the capacity of every educator to ensure the success of every student.

Professional learning takes place year-round and is offered in a variety of formats. Key events include the Teacher Leader Learning sessions and subject-area professional development workshops. Updates, schedules, and highlights are shared regularly through the district's weekly newsletter, Weekly Snapshot for SMP. Additional training opportunities are added throughout the year to meet the evolving needs of our schools and educators.
