High School Courses and Graduation Requirements

Classifications
- 9th Grade (Freshman) – 0-5.5 credits and 0-2 sessions
- 10th Grade (Sophomore) – 6-11.5 credits and 3-4 sessions
- 11th Grade (Junior) – 12-17.5 credits and 5-6 sessions
- 12th Grade (Senior) – 18 or more credits and 7+ sessions
NOTE: To participate in graduation ceremonies, a student must be classified as a senior by having successfully completed the required course work and having completed the required number of semesters.
Credits
Students cannot earn 1/2 credits except in courses taught for 1/2 credits. All other courses will be for full credit only.
Grading
All students will receive letter grades. See additional information on the Grading Scales and Honor Roll page in the Policies section of this Guide.
LEAP 2025 Testing
Students entering prior to 2017-2018 are required to pass three of six LEAP 2025 tests in the following areas:
- English II or III
- Algebra I or Geometry
- Biology or American History.
Students entering in 2017-2018 are required to pass three of six LEAP 2025 exams in the following areas:
- English I or II
- Algebra I or Geometry
- Biology or American History.
