The St. Mary Parish School Board encourages all members of the community with a love and understanding of education to apply to become a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, secretary, bus driver, custodian, and/or cafeteria technician.
  

To apply to become a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, and/or secretary:

• You must be at least 18 years of age and must have proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Apply at www.stmaryk12.net/apply  
• Attend one of our mandatory substitute teacher training workshops.
  • Watch for advertisements for workshops on our website and Facebook page.
  • Email Tprados@stmaryk12.net to reserve your spot for the training.
• Pass a criminal background check.
  • More information on what is needed will be discussed at the training.

To apply to become a substitute cafeteria technician:

• You must be at least 18 years of age.

• Attend one of our mandatory substitute cafeteria technician training workshops.

  • Email Aoubre@stmaryk12.net to reserve your spot for the training.
• Pass a background check & physical exam.

• You must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass a background check & physical exam.

Substitute Pay Rates:

• Teacher
  • High School Diploma-$70 per day
  • Associate Degree-$85 per day
  • Bachelor's Degree-$100 per day

• Paraprofessionals/Secretaries/Custodians/Cafeteria Technicians
  • $10 per hour

• Bus Drivers
  • Full day-$70
  • Half day-$40

**Substitutes should provide the Human Resources Department with official transcripts as verification of a college degree or associate degree BEFORE the pay rate can be established.
